Today is the first anniversary of the Asia Golf Leaders Forum (Chairman Kim Jung-tae, http://www.asigolfleaders forum.org). A year has passed since the spread of COVID-19, which hit the world last year, and it's a pity that we're still having to feel disarranged while not being able to ease our tension. COVID-19 has not only worsened the global economy, but the uncertainty of not being able to predict our immediate future is drastically increasing. AGLF launched under these difficult circumstances, and I sincerely thank all of you for your generous attention and continued interest.

Propelled by your support, AGLF has been able to continue its preparations for growth. Last year, to signal the launch of the "Ladies Asian Tour (LAT) Series", the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association(KLPGA) and the Singapore Golf Association(SGA) agreed to jointly sanction and announced to co-host the Singapore Women's Open. Unfortunately, it was cancelled due to the worsening of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this, through the successful hosting of the Hana Financial Group Championship by the KLPGA in November, it signaled the launch of the LAT Series and we were able to witness the deep interest and positive opinions of the Asian countries towards the LAT Series.

As we begin our second year, AGLF is working on several hopeful projects. We have formed a consultative body to create a new tournament in Indonesia. We have begun to take gradual steps to prepare for the launch of the 2022 tournament. Additionally, we are actively negotiating with the relative tours in Japan and Thailand to have their existing tournaments take part in the LAT Series. At this rate, I am confident that the LAT Series will be completed by 2023, comprising of 8 to 10 major tournaments in Asia.

Fronted by major Asian women’s golf markets such as Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan, LAT Series is expected to become the center of women's golf by adding markets with high growth potential such as Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and other countries.

Our world is still not free from COVID19 and this year, we could face even more difficulties than last year. However, I strongly believe we will overcome this crisis. There's a saying that with crisis comes opportunities. As the integral centerpiece of the associations, AGLF will faithfully play its role as it continues to engage actively with various golf associations and experts in Asia, as well as corporate leaders that show passion for golf. Lastly, the vision of AGLF's members and associations is to establish a new women's golf series “Of the Asian, By the Asian, For the Asian," and I hope we can all walk together in stride until the day when Asia becomes the center of women's golf. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Asia Golf Leaders Forum
